Share the post

Hello parents! Rushing with daily chores and preparing the kids for school is challenging and frustrating. Then here I’m to tell you, parents, that you are not alone.

After a long wait, I’m delighted to share this content on positive discipline for school-going kids and parents, both working and stay-at-home.

As the school bell rings, a new day of learning and growth begins for children, accompanied by the responsibilities and challenges that come with it.

For both school-going kids and their parents, these days can sometimes be overwhelming and demanding.

However, with the right strategies and a collaborative approach, school days can become more manageable and enjoyable experiences for everyone involved.

These simple steps help you quickly engage your school-going kids and yourself in the daily routine, which I’m finding successful with my kid, who is five years old and after a long break from the covid.

Let’s explore valuable tips and techniques to help school-going kids and parents navigate the academic journey quickly and confidently.

From establishing effective routines to fostering a love for learning, each piece of information aims to create a positive and productive environment where children can thrive academically and emotionally.

By working together as a team, parents and kids can alleviate stress and make the most of their school-going days.

Here are four easy tips that help you and your school-going kids manage things effectively.

Packing things:

For Kids

  • Arranging things for school before night helps us avoid last-minute rush and tension.
  • Organize the items the kids need to wear, like the uniform, socks, vest &briefs, belt, tie, etc.
  • Make the school bag ready with Textbooks and notebooks they must take to school.

For Parents

  • Plan food for the next day and arrange the items for cooking priorly(like cutting the vegetable, onions, and so on).
  • If you are a working parent, in addition to the above, organize your stuff like dresses, bags, documents, and other things you must carry to the office the next day.

To-Do List:

For KIDS

  • Give the kids time to play, which helps them to feel stress-free. Yep, you heard me right! It doesn’t mean that adults are prone to stress. Also, kids have anxiety, which they exhibit in the form of tantrums.
  • Having time to look at the homework or assignments to be completed for the next day and setting the time aids the kids in finishing it on time.
  • Schedule time for studies so that they can balance their learning and writing work without any difficulty.

FOR PARENTS

  • Having me time even when you come home from the office or stay-at-home mom helps to keep your mind fresh and relaxed.
  • Schedule a time to make dinner so that you can help out your kids with their assignments and studies.

Set a Routine:

For Kids & Parents

  • Sticking to time helps parents and kids finish dinner and all bedtime routines in advance and go to bed earlier.
  • Apart from academics, have time for your kids to discuss general things like how they felt today, what they played, their likes or dislikes, etc., as it helps them express their feeling and emotions throughout the day.
  • Talking to them about the benefits of waking up early in the morning helps them understand the importance and aids them in waking up the following day.
  • Read out the bedtime story of their interest.
  • A silent prayer or meditation for some minutes before sleep helps calm our minds and helps us in deep sleep.

Wake Up Early

  • Set an Alarm to wake up earlier in the morning, do all the tasks as planned, and get to work and school peacefully.
  • This helps to tackle things in your way and for your kids the whole day.
  • Once they get up from bed, allow them to do what they enjoy for a few minutes to be awake with total energy and in a good mood.
  • Have a checklist on their wall mentioning the routines like brushing teeth, potty, taking a bath, prayer, having breakfast, getting their school bags, and so on.
  • It helps kids understand what to do next instead of waiting for instruction from parents each time.

By implementing these tips, parents can empower their children to excel academically and emotionally while nurturing a solid parent-child relationship.

Remember, the education journey is a team effort, and when parents and kids work together, school-going days can become more manageable and rewarding for everyone involved.
