Motherhood is a beautiful journey in life, where our feeling gets cheerful, glad, and unbeatable, despite changes that take place both physically and mentally we sometime skip following a healthy lifestyle.

Lots of variations take place during motherhood, right from pregnancy, giving birth till raising a child.

Around that time, transformations occur in daily routines starting from the food we take, the exercise we do, our body shape, sleeping habits, etc.

And finally, when we look at our old photo or favorite dress that is unfit now, we realize that we are missing many things. Have you faced this? 

Then take a deep breath with a smile, Yes you heard it right.

You are not the only one who faces it while many of us do.

Never allow worries to overcome you! And let us face it together.

Many of us have come across various healthy lifestyle tips to follow before entering motherhood or during the motherhood journey.

But have we implemented in our daily life and following in our routine. And sometimes, we tend to forget about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in a rush to finish our chores.

How to lead a healthy lifestyle:

According to the World Health Organization, “A healthy diet means there should be a balance between energy intake (calories) and energy expenditure. WHO also recommends limiting sodium intake to less than 2 grams per day (equivalent to 5 grams of salt), reducing free sugars to less than 10% (ideally 5%) of total energy intake, and shifting fat intake away from industrial trans fats”.

Let me reveal those secrets one by one

1.Schedule your sleep time and wake up early:

Why to maintain a schedule ?

  • Maintaining a schedule of when to sleep and wakeup, not only help us in time management but also paves a way in sustaining good health.
  •  Just imagine if we miss getting proper sleep at night time what happens? Our new day gets ruined because of drowsiness.
  • Many health issues arise if we miss enough sleep like problems of indigestion, stress, tiredness, lack of concentration, and so on. And now we can understand why sleep is so vital in our routine “sound sleep at night makes a day better”.
  • Waking up early in the morning helps kick start a day with a lot of enthusiasm and energy.

2.Never skip breakfast:

Why should we never skip breakfast?

  • In our busy world, we feel it is okay to skip breakfast. But have we ever thought of the consequences we face because of it?
  • Starting from Hypertension, high blood pressure, obesity, migraine are some of the consequences we encounter because of it.

  • As we cook food at home, we can choose those ingredients which have more nutritious value and include them while making food, by doing so we can cut down poor diet.

  • Exercise need not be the hard workout that we do in the gym, as it can be simpler to keep us active throughout the day. 
  • We can start our day by doing a simple workout at home,30 min walk, swimming, doing household chores can also be a great way of exercising.
  • If you plan to lose weight, then it must be done safely. 
  • Besides helping in maintaining our body tone, exercise helps in increasing our energy levels and sense of comfort. 
  • Try doing some  workouts after delivery.

5. Stay hydrated, avoid sugary drinks:

  • Drinking 4-6 cups each day is generally healthy.
  • Consuming Water helps in carrying nutrients that our body needs.

  • Avoid sugary content to reduce the risk of overweight, obesity, dental problems, etc.

6.Stay positive to maintain a healthy lifestyle:

  • Staying positive helps us to reduce depression, improves our life span, enhances physical and mental well-being, and so on.
  • Staying around positive people, identifying the negativity and rectifying it, opening ourselves to humor, a smile on our face, stop overthinking about the future, and living a present moment happily.
  • Never compare yourself with others, as we are unique and beautiful in our way.
  • Stop worrying about other person opinions and do what is good. Because perceptions differ from one person to other.

 7.Mindful eating:

  • As we know exposing to sunlight helps to improve our health and well-being.

  • We get vitamin D which helps in supporting bone health, prevention of disease, promoting good psychological health.
  • But we should also remember anything too much is not good. Being exposed to the sun for some time is good, but overdoing it is harmful to our skin.

  • Meditation helps improving concentration, bringing ourselves to the present moment, address stress (positive or negative).
  • Helps improving lower blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, metabolism, control anxiety, etc.

Some tips for me time:

  • Listening to music, a walk in the garden, breathing deeply, pampering yourself, having a coffee looking out the window or balcony, watching a movie, like these we all have our option of me-time that we enjoy in spending.

These are more important hacks needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Though we face some social constraints to attain a healthy lifestyle, we must ensure that it is for our well-being and try to inculcate in our life.
